Find Black-Owned Businesses. Build Real Community.
Search by category and location to discover Black-owned businesses near you. Follow the ones you love, get their updates in your feed, and connect directly with the people behind them. MelanatedKindred started as a directory and grew into a community, because supporting each other works better when we’re actually connected.
A Place Where You Can Actually Feel Safe
We built MelanatedKindred because too many of us have felt exposed on platforms that were never built with us in mind. So safety wasn’t an afterthought here. It was the foundation.
When you block someone, they’re really gone. Not just muted, not just quieter, gone. No lingering access to your posts, your profile, or your life. If you set your profile to followers-only, it means exactly that, and you get to say yes to who’s let in.
If something happens that shouldn’t, a real person reviews it. We hold onto the evidence so nothing gets swept away before anyone’s had a chance to look. You’ll know your report was taken seriously, not just filed away.
We’ve all felt what it’s like to be shadowbanned with no explanation, or harassed while a platform looks the other way. That’s not who we are. Here, you can show up as yourself, support the businesses that hold our community together, and build real connections, all without wondering if the ground beneath you is stable.
You deserve a space that feels like home. We built one.
